October was pretty even across the board as far as card type goes for MTG singles. With Commander Bracket updates reshaping mid-power metas and Universes Beyond both new and upcoming stirring casual interest, one card rose above the rest: Arena of the Ancients. This vintage artifact that debuted in Legends can have quite the impact at the Commander table.
Here’s a snapshot of the top Magic: The Gathering singles making waves in October 2025.
Big Jumps: Arena of Ancients Returns

Arena of Ancients
Increase: ~$0.50 - $19.50
Why It’s Hot: This old-school artifact is seeing renewed interest in Commander metas that want to slow down Voltron and aggressive commanders. With Bracket 2 and 3 decks leaning into longer games and tempo control, Arena of Ancients is a surprise tech piece that punishes early aggression. It’s also being picked up by collectors chasing Reserved List spikes.
Budget Shockers: Flavor Meets Function

Azure Beastbinder
Increase: ~$1.50 → ~$3.00
Why It’s Hot: This bulk rare from Bloomburrow is suddenly everywhere. Commander players are slotting it into Bracket 2 decks for an effective attacker when buffed and key ability removal on opponents, as well as a decent nerf. Bloomburrow was mildly received, but cards from lukewarm sets tend to come back a bit a year or so after release.

Fallen Shinobi
Increase: ~$1.40 → ~$2.80
Why It’s Hot: Commander players love Ninjutsu, as they should. Fallen Shinobi is a brutal value engine, letting you cast opponents’ cards for free. It’s showing up in Yuriko upgrades and Bracket 3 decks that want surprise plays without full combo setups.
Mid-Tier Movers: Bracket Shakeups and Combo Buzz

Ensnared by Mana
Increase: ~$1.50 → ~$5.30
Why It’s Hot: This enchantment lets your opponent pick their poison. What may have recently been too high a mana cost to be considered should be an easy addition to any Decks focused on Firebending with the upcoming Universes Beyond Avatar: The Last Airbender set. It also meshes well with the recently released Electro, Assaulting Battery, which allows you to save your unspent red mana as phases end.

Entangler
Increase: ~$3.75 → ~$8.25
Why It’s Hot: Entangler is a perfect piece for a rising Commander star. Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer absorbs damage, turning them into +1/+1 counters. Entangler ensures that Anti-Venom is well fed, letting him board block and take no real damage.
