What’s Included in the Set?

The Wisdom of the Sea and Sky expansion is a love letter to the Johto region, bringing back fan-favorite Pokemon from Gold and Silver. The theme centers around the elements of water and air, with legendary Pokemon Lugia and Ho-Oh leading the charge in their respective booster packs.

Here are some of the standout cards that have already been revealed:

  • Lugia ex – Packs a punch with Elemental Blast, dealing 180 damage but requiring Fire, Water, and Lightning Energy (which it discards).

  • Ho-Oh ex – Uses Phoenix Turbo to deal 80 damage and accelerate Energy to your Benched Pokemon.

  • Red Gyarados – A shiny version with a powerful attack that scales based on how many Water Pokemon you discard from your Bench.

  • Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile – The Gen 2 starters return with adorable art and simple but effective attacks.

  • Pichu and Cleffa – Baby Pokemon make their debut as utility options. Their effects don't use energy but they are very squishy and easy to get rid of.

  • Umbreon ex – Features Dark Chase, letting you switch in damaged Benched Pokemon from your opponent. Great for Weavile EX players.

  • Espeon ex – Comes with Psychic Healing, a handy ability to heal your team.

  • Trainer Cards – Includes Supporters like Lyra (a tactical switch) and Silver (hand disruption), plus items like Rescue Scarf and Elemental Switch for clever energy plays.

The set leans into nostalgia and strategy, blending iconic Pokemon with new mechanics like attacks that don’t require Energy and synergy between Lugia and Ho-Oh. It’s shaping up to be a meta-shifting release with over 200 cards to collect.

Save Those Hourglasses!

Day one players and new trainers alike have cards to look forward to in Wisdom of the Sea and Sky. Blending nostalgia with a set of cards that looks like it aims to shake up the meta and for deck refreshes, it is sure to be a hit.
