Magic: The Gathering players know the thrill of cracking a booster pack. But when it comes to buying, selling, or trading singles, the experience hasn’t always matched the magic, pun absolutely intended. That’s changing thanks to a new platform built specifically for MTG fans.
We sat down with Wyatt Bright, founder of The Stack MTG marketplace, to talk about what makes this site different, how it’s built for collectors and grinders alike, and why trust is the cornerstone of the whole experience.
What Is The Stack?
“The Stack is a community-driven TCG marketplace,” Wyatt explains. “It’s built for trusted peer-to-peer trading. We support buying, selling, and trading raw Magic: The Gathering cards, and we’ve integrated USPS shipping to make the whole process seamless.”

Unlike traditional storefronts, The Stack is designed to feel like a social trading hub. Every transaction is backed by pre-auth holds, dispute protocols, and verified seller onboarding. “We’re serious about transparency and community trust,” Wyatt adds. “That’s baked into every layer.”
So What Can You Trade?
Right now, The Stack supports raw Magic: The Gathering cards. No Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, or graded slabs... yet. “We’re working on support for CGC, PSA, Beckett, and SGC slabs,” Wyatt says. “But for now, it’s raw cards only.”
How Does Selling Work?
Selling on The Stack is intuitive. Tap the three-lined tab in the top right, hit “Create a Listing,” and follow the prompts. You’ll tag the card’s condition, choose your payout method, and get a USPS shipping label generated for you.

“Any card valued at $10 or more requires shipping,” Wyatt notes. “We’ve made it easy, and every package under 4 oz ships for just $1.50—insured and trackable.”
What’s a Pre-Auth Hold?
If you’re new to online trading, the term might sound intimidating. But it’s actually a smart safeguard. “A pre-auth hold is a temporary authorization on the buyer’s card,” Wyatt explains. “It ensures the seller is committed. Once the transaction is complete or canceled, it’s released.”
How Do Payouts Work?
Once your trade is accepted, funds are released to your connected Stripe account. You’ll get notified at every step. Sellers can cancel before shipping, and buyers can cancel before the hold is captured. After that, disputes go through The Stack’s resolution flow.
What If Something Goes Wrong?
“If a card arrives damaged or isn’t as described, you can open a dispute within 48 hours,” Wyatt says. The team reviews photos, condition tags, and chat logs to resolve things fairly. You can also report users directly from their profile or listing.
“We track every transaction and protect every trade,” he emphasizes. “Scams don’t stand a chance.”

Mobile Access and Support
The Stack is fully mobile-optimized, so you can list, browse, and trade from your phone. Dedicated apps are currently under review by app stores. If you run into onboarding issues or need help updating payment info, support is just a ticket or email away.
What About Fees?
The Stack uses Stripe for payment processing, which charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. The platform also handles state-level tax collection and remittance where required.
Platform Tiers: Free vs Premium
Whether you’re a casual trader or a power seller, The Stack has a tier for you.
Free Tier - Perfect for casual users. You get unlimited listings and trades, USPS integration, and a 5% market fee.
Premium Tier ($5/month) - Designed for verified sellers and high-volume users. You get unlimited listings, USPS integration, CSV mass inventory upload (coming soon), verified trades, 0% market fee, and an ad-free experience.
A fresh look for the tired MTG Marketplace
The Stack isn’t just another marketplace; it’s an ecosystem built by and for Magic players. With built-in trust protocols, USPS integration, and a clear roadmap for expansion, it’s already changing how collectors move cards.
The ability to trade bumps it up another notch with few competitors in that space. It's exciting to see the community come into focus as more options to support the game we love become available. The Stack makes the process smoother, safer, and more community-centered and should get off to a hot start in the already blazing TCG landscape.
