It was pretty much spoiled a month or so ago, but Magic: The Gathering is diving into the sewers and the hearts of fans with its latest Universes Beyond crossover: Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Announced at New York Comic Con 2025, this radical collaboration brings the heroes in a half shell to the world’s most iconic trading card game, and fans are already forming some opinions that are both tubular and not so tubular.
Release Date & Preorders
The TMNT set officially launches worldwide on March 6, 2026, with pre-release events kicking off the same week. Preorders are already live at major retailers, including Amazon and local game stores. But, as usual, collector product is already sold out or being scalped at massive price hikes on resale sites.
Product Lineup
Wizards of the Coast is serving up a full pizza box of products for this release:

Magic: The Gathering x Ninja Turtles | from the Internet
The announcement lit up social media faster than Mikey can shout “Booyakasha!” Here’s a slice of the buzz:

Fans on Reddit are thrilled about the “Sneak” mechanic, which echoes the classic Ninjutsu ability, perfect for stealthy sewer warriors (big for ninja fans).
Twitter/X exploded with nostalgia, with users praising the art direction and flavor text that captures the Turtles’ personalities.
IGN and GameSpot highlighted the crossover’s appeal to both Magic veterans and TMNT fans, calling it “a pizza party for your playmat”.
Final Thoughts
With Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo now part of the Magic multiverse, this set is yet another celebration of pop culture, nostalgia, and gameplay innovation. But in a 2026 that is already primed to bring back Lord of the Rings, introduce Star Trek, and hop back into Marvel, is MTG straying too far from its own planes?
This is a question that will be answered pretty quickly with another UB set, Avatar: The Last Airbender, dropping in November. In any case, it is great to see excitement in the fanbase, even if the product is rolling out faster than a roller skating troupe down Broadway!
