MTG Marvel’s Spider-Man Box Opening: What Did We Find in the Web-Slinging Set?

Magic: The Gathering’s Marvel’s Spider-Man set has officially landed, and collectors are diving into boxes to see what treasures await. Last night, we walked through a full box opening experience, highlighted standout pulls, and shared early impressions from the community. If you’re curious about what’s inside or wondering whether to invest, this breakdown is for you.

We open a full Play Booster Box of MTG Spider-Man and react in real time to the hits, surprises, and overall feeling of the set.

This Set's Notable Pulls and Chase Cards

In our opening, we pulled several standout cards, including:

  • Cosmic Spider-Man – A solid new addition to Commander, give your spiders a handful of abilities and unleash chaos.

  • The Soul Stone (Textless Cosmic Foil) – One of the set’s rarest cards, currently fetching over $20,000 on resale platforms.

  • Anti-Venom and Spectacular Spider-Man – Fan-favorite characters with flavorful mechanics and sharp design.

Community Reactions

Collectors are loving the visual appeal and Marvel crossover energy. Competitive players remain divided, with some calling the mechanics shallow compared to MTG’s more traditional sets. Still, the excitement around rare pulls and the chase for ultra-valuable cards is keeping the buzz alive.

So how did we do with MTG Marvel's Spider-Man?

I think we did ok. As noted by sources like MTGGoldfsh, the pull rates are decently low (Despite a friend pulling 2 Soul Stones). For what we opened, I'll take it. I hit 2 of my chase cards and have another box that I am debating on opening.
