The mana base leans heavily on basics (24 between Plains and Forest) supported by 9 dual lands and 3 fixing lands, which is a fairly stable foundation. The artifact count sits at 23, the heaviest artifact subtheme of any white-green Commander product released to date (I'm pretty sure). Card advantage comes from a mix of card draw (Mind's Eye, Greater Good, Harmonize) and selective tutoring-adjacent effects (Ancestral Communion, Birds of Paradise for ramp).

The Best Cards in the Wakanda Forever Precon

A handful of cards in this precon are doing the heaviest lifting and are worth keeping in any upgrade build.

T'Challa, the Black Panther is the engine the whole deck is built around. Every upgrade decision should start by asking whether the new card feeds the Vibranium token loop or the artifact-spell payoff that grows him.

Fight for the Throne and Heart-Shaped Herb are among the cleanest ways to claim the Monarch crown in this deck, alongside several of the legendary Wakandan creatures (M'Baku, Nakia, Okoye, Queen Mother Ramonda, and T'Chaka) that grant it as well. With this many Monarch sources in the 99, the deck has a real shot at holding the crown for multiple turns in a row, which stacks extra card draw on top of everything else going on.

Trading Post is a quietly excellent artifact that does multiple jobs at once, converting cards, creatures, and life into whatever resource the table state demands.

Weak Seats in the Wakanda Forever Precon

A few cards in the deck are clearly there for flavor or curve-filling rather than engine fuel, and they are reasonable upgrade targets. Without calling out any single card as outright bad, the categories worth scrutinizing are the lower-impact three and four mana creatures that do not interact with the artifact count or the Monarch mechanic. Several of the Wakandan ally creatures are flavor inclusions meant to fill out the roster rather than push the game plan forward, which is appropriate for a precon meant to feel thematically complete, but is the first place experienced Commander players should question for upgrades.

Vanquish the Horde and Divine Visitation are both fine effects, but in a 23-artifact deck that wants to develop its board rather than wipe it, a one-sided sweeper that does not interact with your own permanents the right way can occasionally work against your own game plan. And when you are creating a lot of artifacts, but maybe not a ton of creature tokens with only a few effects in the 99 that create creatures, Divine Visitation is expensive and may not pop off.
